Membership information

Facility & Responsibility: The Orielton Kartway facility is owned by the Southern Tasmanian Kart Club. It is situated at Finger Post Road, Orielton. The club owns all buildings and improvements. Therefore as a member you have a responsibility to the club to assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility, and treating the facility with care and responsibly as you would your own property. STKC Membership application form (PDF format)  Download here Members or private practice A club member can practice at the track at times when it is not required for club or community activities. Please refer to the track page on this web site An AKA licenced member may take friends or prospective Karters to the circuit with a view to introducing them to Karting, however this does not mean usage on a repeated basis by this non-member. As a rule, non-members should use the circuit once only, under the guardianship and direction of a current AKA licenced member. Committee Meetings: Meetings are held every month. All members are welcome to attend meetings and observe the functioning of the Committee; however, participating proceedings of the meeting is by invitation only, unless previous agreements have been made with the Secretary for matters to be held included in the agenda.

AKA licencing information

All licence applications and renewals can now be completed online at the official AKA website. licence Fees are as follows:

AKA licences run for 12 months from date of issue. All licence applications require a passport photo and a birth certificate (copy) before being processed. Junior drivers are required to complete four race meetings to a satisfactory standard to be eligible to move from a provisional licence. Senior Drivers must satisfactorily complete three race meetings and act as a flag marshall for one race meeting. All drivers must ensure they ask for an endorsement at the time they confirm their entry for a race meeting in order to have it marked against their licence. For flag marshall endorsements, please see the officials on the day who will assist you with obtaining your endorsement. The licence fees include a copy of the current AKA Karting Manual. Before your first race you must have completed an Observed Licence Test accoding to Karting Tasmania policy:

STA and OLT Policy

Applicable to all new Licence applicants:(not licence renewals.) Before any Driver shall be permitted to practice on a KA licenced Race Track they are required to undergo a STA. This Assessment  must be completed by an Official of a Club affiliated with KA. Before any Driver shall be permitted to compete on a KA licenced Race Track they are required to undergo an OLT. They must have completed a STA prior to undertaking this test.
